Why we exist

Schools teach.Groupe Mentou forges.

Groupe Mentou is not academic tutoring. It is a parallel school, intimate and demanding, that prepares the next generation of Québec leaders.

The observation

Today's youth need something more

Schools teach you how to answer. Groupe Mentou teaches you how to question. Schools validate a grid. Groupe Mentou reveals a voice. We believe that beyond grades, what sets a future leader apart is the ability to stand tall, think independently, and turn ideas into action.

« We don't train model students. We accompany young people who want to live a life that looks like them. »

The principles

Four convictions guiding our approach

01

Confidence is built

No one is born a leader. Confidence comes from small battles won against yourself, day after day.

02

Environment shapes us

We become who we surround ourselves with. That's why we build a circle of ambitious, kind peers.

03

Discipline frees

Without rigor, talent stalls. With it, potential fully unfolds.

04

Mentorship changes everything

Having someone who believes in you, who sees further than you do — that's a gift that transforms a path.

A pedagogy designed like a workshop
The method
  1. 01

    Observe

Understand who the young person is, what they live, what they dream, what they avoid.

  2. 02

    Stimulate

Offer the right challenges — not too easy, not crushing — to help them grow.

  3. 03

    Guide

Be present over time, celebrate progress, support setbacks.

  4. 04

    Release

Let the young person fly on their own once confidence is anchored.

Portrait of Groupe Mentou's founder

Richard, founder of Groupe Mentou

Mentor, framework builder, and guide for young talent

The founder

A project born from deep conviction

Groupe Mentou was born from a simple observation: many young people have potential, but too few spaces to learn how to fully inhabit it. Richard wanted to create a place where grades matter, yes, but so do voice, posture, discipline, and vision.

His journey

  • 01Supporting young people through academic, personal, and social challenges.
  • 02Seeing the need for a framework more complete than classic tutoring.
  • 03Building a method that connects standards, culture, expression, and mentorship.

Why Groupe Mentou?

Because a young person does not always lack ability. Sometimes they lack a circle, a rhythm, a steady adult voice, and a place where they can try, fall, begin again, and become stronger.

« I created Groupe Mentou to offer young people what I would have loved to receive earlier: a demanding, human framework, and adults who see beyond the report card. »
